9 Dumbbell Push Presses (2×40/25 lb)

This hero workout is dedicated to Master-at-Arms 3rd Class Oscar Temores, U.S. Navy, who was killed when his patrol car was struck by a vehicle that forcibly sped through the security checkpoint at the main gate of Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story, Virginia Beach, VA, on November 30, 2019.

Oscar had been a Master-at-Arms for the United States Navy for over a year, stationed in Norfolk, VA. His loss was a tremendous blow to his family, and to the community of Lemoore, CA, where he was born and raised. He made an impact on every face he interacted with through his ability to make anyone laugh or smile with his comedic personality. He was a kind, genuine, goofy, beer-loving best friend to all, no matter where you came from or what your background was.

He was survived by his beautiful wife, Bethany, and 2-year-old son, Damien, as well as his brothers, Ricky and Benny, mother, Celina, and father, Ricardo.

“We continue to honor Oscar’s life by living each day with a love for every second we are given, in the same way he lived his life: always laughing through the pain, powering through the hardships, and surrounding yourself with the people you love.”

The workout was designed by Coach Rosanna, owner of CrossFit Fresno (Fresno, CA, USA) to support their fellow CrossFit member Ricardo “Ricky” Temores. Jr., brother of Oscar.

The rep scheme signifies:
– 23 minutes for Oscar’s age when he passed
– 9-20 reps for his birthday on September 20, 1996.
