What do you enjoy/find fulfilling about being a coach?
I really enjoy being able to see something that a person can’t see for themselves and then being able to help them make changes/adjustments, practice to get better, and/or come up with a plan to get where they want to go. Helping someone achieve goals by being what they need, when they need it is extremely satisfying.

Favorite benchmark workout? Why?
Grace. It just so happens to be the first benchmark workout that I remember doing. Also, it checks all the boxes. A short time domain using a barbell movement that incorporates a clean!

Any additional interesting facts/experiences that you’d like to share with members/potential members.
My previous coaching experiences includes 1 year of JV football and baseball coaching at Woodlawn High School (MD). That was followed by 4 years of collegiate football coaching. 2 years each at King’s College (Wilkes-Barre, PA) and Sacred Heart University (Fairfield, CT). Immediately prior to coming to CFJG, I taught high school physics at Haverford High School (PA) for 5 years where I also coached middle school football for 4 years and varsity track and field (throwing coach) for 2 years.

What do you enjoy/find fulfilling about being a coach?
When you see someone able to do something they weren’t before, when you know you’re part of them being able to play with their kids, get off medications, make their lives better. I love doing this because I make a difference in someone’s life being better.

Favorite benchmark workout? Why?
Manion. Run and back squats, bit of wheel house for me. It’s one of the first Hero WODs I ever did, and when you push yourself in a hero WOD you feel something not only physically but mentally as well, such a sense of accomplishment.

Any additional interesting facts/experiences that you’d like to share with members/potential members.
I started out at CFJG as a client, and transitioned to being a coach (will always be an athlete), so I know the road that anyone new has gone down. I am also a father and a husband, as well as a cancer survivor. I’m also an Aquarius and enjoy long walks on the beach, love watching Supernatural (not sure how many times have watched the series).

What do you enjoy/find fulfilling about being a coach?
I like helping athletes find new skills and building strength that they didn’t know they could achieve. I especially like doing 1 on 1 training because you get to spend more time to hone skills.

Favorite benchmark workout? Why?
Karen – 150 wall balls for time! It’s a tall persons workout.

Any additional interesting facts/experiences that you’d like to share with members/potential members.
I work as a Physical Therapy Assistant for Penn Medicine. I specialize in orthopedics, aquatic therapy and am certified in LSVT a exercise treatment for Parkinson’s patients.
